The Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox will play Game three of their divisional series this Sunday from Fenway Park. Boston took Game one, but Tampa struck back in Game two with ninth inning production, 4-2.

Rays Betting Preview

Tampa Bay comes in at 41-19 after defeating Boston. The Rays used heroics to avoid a second loss on Saturday, and they’ll look to double down in game threee. The Tampa offense is scoring 5.13 runs per game, while batting .271, with a .346 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.71 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP. Yandy Diaz recorded multiple hits in two of three games against the Dodgers, and he leads Tampa in batting (.325) and runs scored (37). Randy Arozarena had a strong series against Toronto last week, and he leads the team in RBI (39). Josh Lowe has collected a hit in eight of the last ten games, and he’s posting nice splits of .304/11/36. Isaac Paredes nearly completed the cycle in the game three win over LAD, and after producing a run in four of the last five games, he’s up to 33 RBI.

Taj Bradley (3-2, 4.44 ERA, 34 Ks) will take the hill for Tampa. The rookie righty pitched very well at Wrigley Field last week, striking out eight in 5.2 innings against Chicago, but he still suffered his second straight loss despite allowing just one run. Bradley hasn’t been too phased by road tests early on, and he’ll look to display a strong effort at Fenway Sunday. Bradley faced Boston in his MLB debut, and he managed to strike out eight in five innings pitched.

Red Sox Betting Preview

Boston moved to 30-28 after falling to Tampa. The Red Sox were unable to follow up their afternoon performance, and they’ll look to avenge a dry performance at the plate Sunday. The Boston offense is 4.18scoring runs per Game, while batting .258, with a .340 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.89 ERA, with a 1.34 WHIP. Alex Verdugo has multiple hits in two of his last three Games, but he still leads the team in hits (53) and runs (37). Rafael Devers was also quiet in Anaheim, and he still leads the Sox in HR (13) and RBI (44). Masataka Yoshida has collected a hit in eight of the last ten Games, and he’s posting solid splits of .299/6/29.

Tanner Houck (3-3, 5.48 ERA, 38 Ks) will get the ball for Boston. The fourth-year pitcher had a tough time in the desert last week, allowing four runs in four innings to earn his fourth loss of the season. Houck has shown some vulnerability on the mound this season, and Tampa’s talented lineup may give him trouble here.

Tampa Bay vs Boston Trends

Tampa is 22-32 against the spread this season, with a 31-20-3 O/U record. Boston is 21-35 ATS this year, with a 30-23-3 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Tampa Bay comes into Game three with a slight advantage on the mound, and I think they capitalize. Boston starter Tanner Houck has been shaky since the start of April, and it’s very likely the Rays find a way to get to him, and make him uncomfortable. Taj Bradley’s pitcher prop may be a good way to go as well, but back Tampa for Game three of this divisional series.
