Best NBA Player Props Today - November 19

Another wild NBA weekend concludes with a nine-game slate on Sunday, November 19.

I’ve gone through all the NBA odds and matchup data to find the best NBA picks for today’s action. For my three favorite NBA player props, I’m spotlighting a pair of player development success stories featuring Tyrese Maxey and Devin Booker, and casting some skepticism on a Cleveland Cavaliers frontcourt that has yet to work through their biggest flaw.

Best NBA player props today

  • Tyrese Maxey Over 2.5 3s (-165 at SIA)
  • Devin Booker Over 7.5 assists (+100 at SIA)
  • Aaron Gordon Over 6.5 rebounds (-115 at FanDuel)

NBA player props for November 19

Prop bet #1: Tenacious Tyrese

Tyrese Maxey has ascended to superstardom, not only is he a lock for an All-Star spot for the first time in his career, but he’s also on the path to being an All-NBA guard for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Outside of his winning personality, Maxey’s speed has always been his greatest asset. His speed allows him to get to his spots and surprise opposing defenses and makes him a deadly attacker off the catch.

He’s been an incredible play-finisher throughout his career, but this year he’s made real strides as an isolation scorer and shot creator.

The question mark for Maxey entering the draft was his jump shot. The progress on that front has been nothing short of remarkable. Maxey shot just 30.1% on triples in his rookie season on a paltry 1.7 attempts per game. But he’s been over 42% in every season since, and this year he’s taking 7.5 of them.

He’s far from just a catch-and-shoot guy either. Per Cleaning the Glass, only 56% of Maxey’s 3s have come off assists this season, which leaves 44% that are coming off his own steam. That’s an above-average mark for any point guard, and an incredible demonstration of Maxey’s growth as less than 30% of his 3s were unassisted over his last two seasons.

The Brooklyn Nets are also a team that invites opposing 3-point shooting. They use Nic Claxton to ward off the rim and cheat into the paint to discourage drives. They play the numbers and allow a lot of opponent 3-point attempts, many of them from above the break.

That’s a good gamble against a lot of teams and players, but Maxey is now one of the exceptions. Maxey has hit three or more triples in five of his last seven games. Bank on the Tyrese Maxey odds to cash this prop on Sunday.

Tyrese Maxey prop: Over 2.5 3s (-165 at SIA)

Prop bet #2: Point Book

The Phoenix Suns got their point guard back. No, not Bradley Beal, who Frank Vogel publicly dubbed lead guard to a collective eyebrow raise prior to the season. Rather, Devin Booker, the Suns franchise player past, present, and future.

Booker is a case study in player development. Booker went from a guy who was openly mocked for stat padding his way to a 70-point Game to the best player on an NBA Finals team who could shoot, defend, and play make with the best of them. The growth in every area is incredible to witness, but his level-up as a passer is perhaps the most impressive.

Booker had a career high 15 assists on Friday against this same Utah Jazz team, and he showcased the full arsenal. He made skip passes to the corner, hit Jusuf Nurkic at the rim in the pick and roll, and drew two in the post before kicking it to an open shooter above the arc.

The Jazz have to show him extra bodies, and he routinely punishes teams who do so now. Booker is averaging 10.3 assists through four games for Phoenix this year and is relishing his chances as the lead creator. At least until Beal returns, these Devin Booker odds are going to look generous.

Devin Booker prop: Over 7.5 assists (+100 at SIA)

Prop bet #3: Gordon’s glass

The Cleveland Cavaliers came into the season with high expectations, but they’re off to an uneven start. Part of that can fairly be chalked up to injuries, but there is another piece that is within their control that is maddening given the way their last season ended.

The Cavaliers start Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley at the big spots and spend plenty of time each game with both guys on the court. This twin towers approach is supposed to juice their defense, and in theory, having two of the three tallest players on the floor in most parts of a given game should boost their rebounding.

Except they remain a poor team on the boards in practice.

Even after being blasted off the court by the New York Knicks for precisely this reason, the Cavaliers are just as bad on the glass this year. Per Cleaning the Glass, Cleveland is the fourth-worst defensive rebounding team in the NBA, and they’re Bottom-10 in offensive boards as well.

They simply don’t play with enough force and tend to shrink matchups with the league’s bruiser-types. Enter one such bruiser on Sunday, as Aaron Gordon and the Denver Nuggets head to Ohio.

Gordon is a physical marvel, who combines otherworldly hops with one of the strongest frames in the league. He has a knack for hitting the offensive glass and has gone over this prop in six of his last eight games. In three of those contests, he had 11 or more rebounds. The Aaron Gordon odds to get seven rebounds tonight are more than fair.

Aaron Gordon prop: Over 6.5 rebounds (-115 at FanDuel)
